At the Shakhnovich group, my research focuses on computational and theoretical modeling of evolutionary fitness landscapes and the investigation of how ruggedness, epistasis, and navigability shape evolutionary trajectories. By applying fitness landscape design (FLD) to viral proteins, I aim to study how evolution and antibody interactions reshape protein structures and their fitness landscapes, with the broader goal of slowing down and suppressing viral evolution.
